Martin Coslett - Co Artistic Director

​Musical dramatist, writer,
​producer and tutor.
Martin was born in Newport, South Wales He has had a close connection with Surrey having been to university in Guildford and his Magna Carta Musical was staged in the Electric Theatre. He has since lived in Dorking and Woking. In March 2018 Martin moved to Chesterfield.

Other musicals written by Martin include The Perfect City (which he also co-produced), Oswald and the Mystery of Comet Island, Mountains of the Moon and A Short History of Tractors (not) in Ukrainian based on the novel by Marina Lewycka.

Martin is an experienced musical director, composer, teacher, tutor and coach and enjoys collaborative working, adapting stories into musicals for performance. He has lectured at the Song Stage and Screen conference in Guildford and workshopped some of his shows with the Royal Academy of Music and Central School of Speech and Drama graduating students. With his professional production team (currently Ashgate Heritage Arts), Martin staged a sold-out run of  "Ferguson's Gang" at Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud Mill Theatre. ​

Philip Meeks – Sir Richard’s scribe, the monk

Philip Meeks’ theatre credits include twelve years as one of the UK’s most respected pantomime dames.  For most of the year he concentrates on his writing career.  This includes several years writing on “Emmerdale.”  His plays include “Murder Margaret and Me”, “Harpy” starring Su Pollard and most recently “Sleepy Hollow” directed by Jake Smith which recently gained a cult following during a UK tour.  Philip last appeared in Chesterfield at the Pomegranate in the leading role of Arnold in a national tour of “Not Now Darling.”

Stephanie Putson – Martha, the landlady

Originally from the North East, Stephanie trained at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). After taking to the stage Putson gained her first screen role in the Tyne Tees Television serial The Gambling Man (1995) in which she had the lead role of Janie, opposite Robson Green. Since then, she has mostly appeared on television and stage.

Putson originated the part of Billy’s Mum in the London stage production of Billy Elliot the Musical, which ran from 2005 until 2016

Hayley Mitchell – Katherine, the seamstress

Hayley Mitchell, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire 2020 Graduate, is thrilled to be taking on the role of Katherine in the new murder mystery musical 'The Crooked Spire'.  

Whilst in training she played the iconic roles of (Henry V, Cresent Theatre Birmingham) (Marmee- Little Women The Broadway Musical, The Old Rep Theatre Birmingham).

Upon graduating her most recent credits include (Steel & Iron The Musical- Twenty Seven Productions) (Northern Girls - Pilot Theatre) (Wasted - Second Home Studios) (The Fiesta Fawns- Middlesbrough Little Theatre).

Gerard trained at LAMDA.

Eddie Waller – Walter, a pigsty boy

Eddie has played a variety of roles and performed in concerts as part of Inspirations Theatre Company since 2017 including Hans Zeller in The Sound of Music; Lionel the butler in Cinderella and Gavroche in Les Miserables. 
​
Eddie performed in the October 2021 concert of songs from The Crooked Spire at St Mary and All Saints Church, Chesterfield. 

He has been cast as Maui in Inspirations Theatre’s upcoming production of Moana

Adam Stickler – John, the carpenter
